- MRSA headlines are frustrating. In most cases these infections are already present in the patient, relative or whoever is being asymptomatic. If 10 patients have these infections, probably a very small percentage have contracted it via staff. But the papers will just report 10 patients 'with killer bug'. It makes better headlines but does nothing for patients' morale. Bungle

- A lot of situations that cause infection are down to sheer laziness. I'll bet there is a bit of 'not my patient' involved – a hateful product of modern teaching. Whatever happened to individual pride in a job well done? navynurse35
