Three nurses have won awards in the Health Foundation's 'leadership for change' scheme

Along with nine other health professionals, the nurses will each receive a £3,000 training allowance and support from the charity. They were Gemma Ellis, consultant nurse for adult critical care at Cardiff and Vale NHS Trust, Michele Bering, consultant nurse in learning disabilities at Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and Zena Ludick, head of nursing in the elective division at Basingstoke and North Hampshire NHS Foundation Trust.
The scheme aims to help health professionals lead projects to improve care.
