The NHS cleanyourhands campaign is to be extended beyond hospitals to other healthcare settings in England and Wales

The National Patient Safety Agency (NPSA) announced plans last week to pilot the scheme at 19 organisations across various healthcare settings including hospices, care homes and ambulance trusts.
If successful, the NPSA hopes to roll out the campaign fully to the non-acute sector during early 2008.
Martin Fletcher, chief executive of the NPSA, said:  'Hospital staff have really engaged with our cleanyourhands campaign. Now we're taking it outside hospitals, to fight infection from as many angles as possible.'
