Pay review body due to report

The NHS Pay Review Body will submit its recommendations on pay for nurses and most non-medical staff to the government this week, NT understands.

However, unions are concerned that the government may once again ignore the review body's recommendations and attempt to stage the pay award, as it did in England last year.

John Skewes, director of employment relations at the RCM, said: 'Our main concern
is whether the government implements the recommendations in full.'

Separate pay review bodies for the military, teachers, and prison officers have already recommended pay rises of 2.6%, 2.45% and up to 2.7% respectively. Special pay for active duty has also increased
in the armed forces.
