The council for Healthcare Regulatory Excellence has delayed the publication of findings on its investigation into the nursing regulator

The NMC is currently under scrutiny from the CHRE over claims of bullying and racism within the organisation.

The CHRE had planned to publish its findings last week but NT understands the report will now not be given to ministers until mid-June. It has so far interviewed six NMC staff members.

In March Jim Devine, MP for Livingstone, initiated a Commons adjournment debate about the regulator, alleging that it had an 'ingrained culture of bullying and racism' (NT News, 26 February, p3).

The Charity Commission has also been asked by ministers to investigate the regulator's finances.
