I despair of how out of touch with reality & members, RCN officials are at all levels nationally & locally. I have voted to reject, I don't know anyone who agrees with this, the RCN is a disgrace.
Like many others I too will be leaving the RCN after many years and as a former activist. I will join Unite as it has rejected this offer and it actually supports and offers benefits to its members and it costs less. We need negotiators who are not afraid to act on votes & views of members, not keeping crawling to employers & government.

How can it be fair when nurse are already behind in the wages paid in other sectors. Many nurses are fighting to keep grades awarded in AfC, this 3 year deal will only make them feel further undervalued. Peter Carter is selling us down the river and ought to be ashamed

I agree the pay rise is not good enough again the rcn do not listen to their members. I also pay £307 per year to park on site, our trust is split into two hospitals and because I work at the smaller one I have to pay a daily charge on top of £10 per day if I need to attend study at our sister hospitai which is part if the same trust so how unfair is that, soon we will be paying the trusts for the privilige of working for them, is it any wonder that nurse morale is so low!!

I intend to resign from the RCN, as previous activist I am totally disgusted with the RCN. We had a meeting today and guess what it now transpires that colleagues who have lease cars are subsidising the NHS to the tune of £2 per gallon of fuel they use for work. No matter what the paltry pay 'rise' is, we continue to be sold down the river. How so, the ambulance service got it right - they even get paid if they take their break late! Can you ever imagine this for nurses! No the NHS could not afford it. I intend to join the CPHV (Unite) at least they are recommending members reject the pay offer. I never thought I would ever ask to strike but by god I feel ready for it now. Leave the RCN

Presumably, I like so many other nurses, am disgusted with the pay deal which in real terms is a pay cut. I believe the RCN has sold us down the river and is probably feathering its own nest just like the MP's did with their 10% pay rise last year.
With costs of food, fuel and utilities going up, it is time to take realistic action that has an impact without creating the risk and vulnerability to our patients and will keep the public on our side.
Maybe just for once the press will report the real pay offer and not say it is an 8% pay rise and to quote the BBC News last week for new nurses their rise has been 24% against police, fire and teachers who have only received up to 10% rises.

I feel like the previous subscribers, again and again we are let down by the RCN, now is the time to stand firm. Let us not forget we now get less than our colleagues in Scotland, when will that difference be made up? No to the current pay deal, in this economic climate we will be the losers as usual.

LETS ALL LEAVE THE RCN NOW!!!! They never fight for us they just accept everything the goverment throw at us...........lets be like the teachers, police and council workers... make a stand! WORK TO RULE!?? Anything to make out voices heard as the RCN dont speak out for us.I pay £307 car parking fees to my trust so that to me was a wage cut, do teachers have to pay to park their car at schools? Do the police? NO! We have to pay to be registered we are being stung all ways.

I think the pay deal that is preposed is a disgrace. No way should it be accepted. Do these people live in the real world. Nurses are struggling to survive. Please do not add insult to injury by offering us such a small pay rise over 3 years.

The pay deal on the table may well be heralded as a victory by the RCN as a better deal than other public sector workers this year. They, unlike me, have forgotten the insult that was accepted last year, when our fellow public workers made hefty gains.
I travel frequently for my role on business. I do not see an uplift in the travel allowance, to compensate for the high taxation on fuel, which has remained at the same whitley agreement rate for as long as i can remember.
Maybe I should re-train as a tube driver! They receive more pay and better conditions than I do as a senior nursing grade, by holding the capital to ransom through a strong union voice/political activism.
