Airedale NHS Trust in Yorkshire has been named best performing small acute trust in England for the second time in three years by the Dr Foster Hospital Guide.
Tom Moloney, Chief Executive of Dr Foster Intelligence, said: 'We were very impressed by Airedale NHS Trust's consistently high scores across a range of measures that included patient satisfaction, waiting times, infection control and the lowest mortality rates.
'We're also pleased to learn of their success in transforming stroke services and introducing a new approach to acute admissions, particularly for patients aged over 80,' he added.
Trust chief executive Adam Cairns said: 'The award is a tribute to Airedale staff and to the very good results we achieve for and with our patients. Everyone at Airedale will feel encouraged to see our hard work and continued effort being rewarded in this way.'
Dr Foster Hospital Guide analyses performance across the English NHS against selected indicators.
From this year, patients can also access a new website which enables them to compare and contrast services at NHS and private hospitals.
