Nurses are being called on to petition prime minister Gordon Brown to abolish hospital car parking charges across the NHS.

Nursing Times is calling on nurses and other health professionals to support its 'Free Parking, clampdown on unfair charges for nurses' campaign by signing an online petition at the prime minister's website.

The campaign calls on the government and NHS in England and Northern Ireland to follow the examples set by Scotland and Wales and abolish hospital car parking charges for nurses.
