  • Comment on: Judge praises nurse for work ethic but jails him for seven months

    Adam Itinerant's comment 14-Dec-2010 6:51 am

I agree entirely with Elisabeth. As a student I worked with an Asylum Seeker Health Team in Salford and one of our client families, an Iraqi couple, and their new baby were both health professionals (he a nurse and she a doctor), experienced, expert and fluent in English. They too had had their claims assessed positively and yet were unable to work. This was at a time when the UK was still going through it's staffing crisis. Whilst I can't condone the falsification of documents, I condemn the processes that made Mr Matinyadze feel it was necessary and wish him all the best.

More silly Daily Mail "science" reporting. A little bit more insight in to what kind of paper it is.

    Adam Itinerant's comment 22-Aug-2009 11:59 am

"There is no direct evidence that everyday use of candles can affect our risk of developing cancer. “In terms of cancer, a far more significant type of indoor air pollution is secondhand cigarette smoke. Lifestyle factors such as smoking, alcohol, obesity, unhealthy diets, inactivity and heavy sun exposure account for a much larger proportion of cancers.”

This is that silliest kind of anti-science that the Daily Mail has made its speciality. Big silly scary headlines and no reasonable content. Deeply irresponsible of them to relentlessly do this with unpublished and unreviewed work, distorted and chewed up then misinterpreted and spewed out. Even more so of NT, unless you are drawing attention to just how silly Daily Mail "science" reporting is. Could do better NT.

  • Comment on: Meditation in the workplace may help reduce nurse stress

I agree with all the Anonymouses of course. But on top of all that, meditation would help too.
