Seven of England's 10 strategic health authorities have committed to spending their entire staff training budget on training.
The move comes after NT wrote to SHAs as part of its Time Out For Training campaign, calling on them to ringfence the nursing element of the Multi-Professional Education and Training budget.
East of England SHA said it would spend its entire MPET allocation on training in the next three years. Four SHAs said they had returned underspends on training to this year's budget.
Only South Central SHA and South East Coast SHA would not commit to the initiative. But all of the SHAs, excluding NHS South West, which has yet to respond, said they 'agreed with the sentiment' of the campaign.
