ERIC (Education and Resources for Improving Childhood Continence), a charity that supports children and young people with wetting and soiling problems, has won the Children and Youth category of the Charity Awards 2008.
The award recognised ERIC's campaigns to improve water and toilet facilities for pupils in schools. The campaigns Water is Cool in School and Bog Standard have been working for several years across the UK.
The award was sponsored by the Charities Aid Foundation, Charity Finance and The Times and the Charity Award judges were looking for examples of excellence from which other organisations can learn. ERIC's Director, Penny Dobson, said, "It was so good to receive national recognition both for ERIC and for the challenging cause of childhood wetting and soiling".
