Call to adopt spinal care bundle

Critical care nurses have been urged to adopt a best practice guide to caring for spinally injured patients.

The spinal injuries care bundle was developed by a multi-disciplinary team at the North West Midlands Critical Care Network (NT News, 3 June, p4).

'It will be useful in critical care settings that are looking after spinally injured patients,' said Nicki Bellinger, nurse consultant in critical care at Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic and District Hospital NHS Trust in Shropshire, who helped write the document.
