Nurses will lead most of the government's end-of-life care strategy, according to the Department of Health.

The strategy, published in July, set out plans to allow more terminally ill patients to die at home (NT News, 22 July, p3).

Speaking at the RCN's palliative nursing forum annual conference in London, Claire Henry, DH national programme director for end-of-life care, said nurses would play a crucial role at all levels in implementing the strategy.
