Comment on: Hospital suspends staff following BBC Panorama investigation
Disgusted does not describe my feelings regarding what I witnessed on panorama! What are these people being taught at induction!! Who supplys their MVA training. Is it any suprise that a recent enquire into the death of a patient following restraint was again relating to a Castlebeck hospital? http://www.thisisnottingham.co.uk/news/Open-verdict-option-death-mental-health-patient/article-3579168-detail/article.html Things have got to change. Vurnerable people have the right to feel safe in their home! I work in the private sector and am pleased to say I have never witnessed anything like this but obviously there is need for a shake up in regulating! My heart goes out to the families and victims of this shameful excuse for a hospital.

Comment on: PCT suspends Christian nurse for offering to pray for patient
I was extremely disheartened on hearing this news. We are employed for our personalities/natures as well as our skills. I don't ever remember when signing my bank contract agreeing to leave my faith at the door. Some fantastic points have already been raised but really the main issue is that this bank nurse has been thoroughly let down by her bosses. What message is this sending out to my fellow student nurses who are taught about holistic and spiritual care when such a gray area could cost them suspension at the start of their career. Are the NMC/NHS going to put down guidelines or are we going to skip through hoops hoping that concern is not going to cost us?

Comment on: Student nurse blog: A sad farewell, but I will be back
I have been fortunate enough to have worked on the nurse bank as an auxillary since 2006 and am still completing bank shifts as we speak :-D

Comment on: Half of nursing students consider quitting
This statistic does not suprise me in the slightest. Being a student nurse myself, I have, several times considered the financial position this course has put me in and wondered whether I can continue. I know several colleagues who have dropped out after two years training to become full time auxillaries in order to pay the bills. Something must be done.
