Professor Hewlett's team of researchers are based at the rheumatology unit at the Bristol Royal infirmary, where United Bristol Healthcare Trust clinical staff, and UWE and University of Bristol researchers provide integrated care, education and research.

Professor Hewlett said: 'Our rheumatology links, as well as national and international collaboration, makes this an exciting time for health professionals working in rheumatology. We hope to be able to make major contributions to patient care in arthritis, not only by nurses but the whole multidisciplinary team.'
