in my third year of mental health nursing degree, the calculations on my course were basic, there is a great book which has examples to work through. Why dont you check amazon, they will have a list of reasonable books, or try this link

yeah dont worry i am rubbish at maths and am in my 3rd year and i managed to get 100% in the drug calcs first time round, just practice and find a formula that works for you and you will do fine, promise!

Hi,
i'm due to start Adult Nursing at university in september and i'm really excited.

This is a complete career change for me, although this is my dream, but i have limited experiance of hospitals and that was only as a patient.

Any hints or tips to calm the nerves?

Key is dont worry. everyone works differently and sees problems differently. There is usually more than one way to do a calculation or manipulate the numbers. If you cant do it one way try another. There are formulas for most calculations and these work for me, but they dont necessarily work best for everyone. Good luck and as one poster said get a good nursing calculation book and work way through.
