  • Id like to say a huge thankyou to The Student Nursing Times team , especially the judges on the panel for Mentor of the Year, for naming me , Stella Ross, Student Nursing Times Mentor of the Year 2013 . Its such an honour to receive this award.

A massive thankyou to you all , for recognising, and celebrating the dedication , enthusiasm, and passion of mentors, in what can only be described , I believe, as one of the most fulfilling roles in nursing ; Its more than just teaching a student how to administer an injection , or completing documentation correctly, its that fantastic opportunity to mould your student in to a nurse for the future, with compassion, and kindness, and consideration, and competance, ultimately they our future workforce , and it still blows me away , what a privilege that is.
Thankyou Student Nursing Times for shining a light on all the good work being done out there day in, day out for students , its just what we all need. A brilliant event, that can only go from strength to strength, well done to all finalists and winners
