well all I can say is bring back the Enrolled Nurse, who was trained to look after patients, feed them wash them, report on any changes in the patient to the nurse in charge. The EN was the back bone of the ward, and did most duties which were over seen by the nurse in charge of the ward.I was an En but progressed, and now I am a nurse partner with First Contact Skills. The EN could be used throughout secondary and primary care and be a usefull employee and care giver.Bring back the SEN.

we should all work together in times of crisis.however the bma and the government locking horns again.I am a nurse partner and practice nurse.Myself and my nurse collegues are worn out with qofs seasonal flu and now swine flu vaccines, the doh should be offering support to general practice, not threats. Gps themselves are on the whole hardworking proffessionals.Stop bashing general practice, support us please but stop bashing us lets get on with the vaccination of all at risk patients.

yippee as a nurse partner, then I should look forward to a fantastic amount of cash dropped into my back pocket,oh but just a minute,do I have to pay the other nurses to come in to vaccinate, perhaps they will do it for nowt so thats great, get all the staff to volunteer and lets keep the cash ourselves.Well lets think about it again will receptionists, nurses, drs work for nothing I thinks that hardly unlikely so pay the money to practices and lets get on with the mass vaccination, because lets be fair pratices are geared up for vaccinations cos its one of them things that we do well.
