  • Comment on: How to reduce your agency spend

    Kirsty Armstrong's comment 11-Nov-2011 10:51 am

Has anybody considered that if you employ enough staff full time and have enough permanet work force you improve patient care, staff moral and do not have to employ agency staff-surely this is not rocket science??? Solutions are all very well but why not spend all of that money on permanent staff-works for me

Yes good to hear it can be done-may I also say you should consider being a limited compeny or are you already-then you can claim the clothes on your back and the journals that you read- you will need an accountant but you should check tha he will only charge you what he saves you-good luck

If you are accessing this website I am assuming you are both health care professionals who at some time must be involved in giving vaccinations or advice about these. You should know that often Guilian Barre is as a result of a virus with no vaccine being implicated and as for the 2nd comment-what sort of balanced advice can you give to patients if this is how you rant and rave when not in work-not very rational is it?

I really like the idea of nurse physician-this is a good re -branding for me. I love being able to take the best from nursing and medicine and put them into the patient care bowl to be mixed and taken as necessary-we are lucky and the patients are too -doctors do not have that luxury of knowing what we do-we know what they do-and take the best bits of that.

  • Comment on: Practice nurses urged to get savvy on migrant health risks

    Kirsty Armstrong's comment 2-Feb-2011 1:00 pm

Sounds great but the biggest problem for practice nurses is being released for training (they are not)and the fact that GPS will not pay for their training (oerennial)-if PNs want to access training they to take annual leave and pay for it themselves in many cases.
