Comment on: Nursing ratios linked to patient outcomes
Only when the government (and managers) start actually listening to what the evidence tells them will nursing research be considered to be of any good or benefit. Despite nursing research showing these inconsistencies consistently, the people in power are still not listening! It is no wonder nurses do not want to do more nursing research if no one is going to listen to them anyway.

Comment on: PM orders regular ward rounds, nurse leadership and reduced bureaucracy
At last does this mean that the government are actually going to start listening to nurses? While it all sounds very exciting and empowering for nurses I fear that their voices will not be heard by simply creating another forum.

Comment on: 'Compassion and communication skills make a good nurse'
If you were ill tomorrow what would you expect? I think compassion and communication would be a pretty good start. Take it from someone who is a nurse but is also currently an unwilling patient;-)

Comment on: Anger following attack on chief nurse role
If this happens then the message is very clear that nurses are not valued in the UK as genuine equals to other health professionals. I really hope the politicians read these sites, especially the health ministers and post some genuine replies. Only then will nurses feel listened to.
