Comment on: Do you want a national nurses' uniform, or just a clean one?
A clean uniform provided by the employer with a suitable facility to change into it must be the number one requirement surely? However, having a national uniform will at least make it easier for me to recognise the job role of the professional standing in the supermarket queue in front of me. :-)

Comment on: RCN issues recession guidance for struggling nurses
Cheaper RCN fees is one helpful option not mentioned :-)

Comment on: NHS trusts to use 'mystery shoppers' to check on quality
I would like to think that in addition to Nursing staff having opportunity to demonstrate the quality of their work & worth to mystery shoppers that non-clinical managers and trust boards will also have chance to do likewise. Not so sure they would be keen about that initiative. :-)

Comment on: Confidence in NMC 'appears to be improving'
"positive feedback from..stakeholders & confidence in the NMC appears to be improving" This is not my experience when talking to staff. Most weeks when delivering training around the country the NMC will be mentioned and the comments of nurses do not reflect this statement in my opinion. They still have lots to do before people will have confidence.

Comment on: Whistleblowing nurse faces further NMC charges over covert filming for BBC documentary
In light of the fact that she has had the other charges dismissed, while not knowing all the details, this seems to imply that standards were not acceptable in this hospital and Ms Hayward should be supported for her actions. I am sure patients and their families would stand behind any professional attempting to change poor workplace practices. http://blog.mark-sheldon-consultancy.co.uk/
