Let us assume that the son knows that ‘morally’ he should let his dad die in peace, but he is ‘freaked out’ or ‘nervous’, and he calls 999.
When the paramedics arrive, he explains that his dad had told him to not call anyone, but he has called because he is ‘panicky’.
What should the paramedics do – should they attempt CPR, or should they say ‘If he told you that, we should let him die in peace’, and refuse to attempt CPR (even if the son then asks them to) ?
