  • Comment on: Why are nurses still paying to park?

Our Car-parking system charges us £1 per day, which I admit is not nearly as bad as many trusts. However, at present we have a real issue with the availabilty of parking due to construction. If you arrive at the hospital any later than 8 you can forget it! If you park anywhere else you get a fine! The only other option is to park down the road (not safe for a young woman like myself!) and this option can cost approx £8 per day! The system is ridiculous & in my opinion is either 'making money out of people's misfortune' or 'making money out of us health workers who work long hours & should be praised, not penalised!!' I get the issue with trying to encourage people to use other methods of transport, but this option is inpractical for me-otherwise I would probably get approx 3hrs sleep between shifts! Appauling!!!
