A new once daily antimuscarinic agent for the treatment of the symptoms of overactive bladder has been launched in the UK.
Fesoterodine fumarate (Toviaz), manufactured by Pfizer, is available as a 4mg and 8mg prolonged-release tablet and the basic NHS cost is the same for both doses.
Dry mouth was the most commonly reported adverse event in trials, the company said. This was more pronounced in the 8mg group, although was usually mild to moderate in severity.
