Nurses across the country have been celebrating Nurses' Day 2008 today, to coincide with the 188th anniversary of Florence Nightingale's birth.
Staff at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Trust were rewarded with free cakes and beveraeges. There was also a prize draw open to all nurses, with first prize being an extra day's annual leave.
And Yeovil District Hospital challenged to staff to ice a cake in an appropriate theme. The winning entry was from the staff in the Intensive Care Unit.
