Maintain pressure on reforms to protect NHSCardiac nurses to offer health advice at supermarkets
Cardiac nurses will visit supermarkets as part of a BHF drive to offer people in Scotland free lifestyle checks.
The roadshow - which will tour locations in Edinburgh, Glasgow and North Lanarkshire for three months - will see cardiac nurses giving advice on healthy eating and losing weight to shoppers at supermarkets.
Visitors will also complete a lifestyle questionnaire and discuss the results with a heart health adviser.
BHF figures have shown that heart and circulatory disease accounts for a third of all deaths in Scotland and is the nation’s biggest killer.
Claire Fraser, of BHF in Scotland, said: “The roadshow is the perfect chance for people interested in their health to come along to a really friendly, informal setting, and find out more about how they can improve their lifestyle to lower their risk of developing heart disease in the future.”
