New CPD resource for non-medical prescribers

As non-medical prescribers have a responsibility to keep up to date with developments, the book, CPD for Non-medical Prescribers – A Practical Guide, looks at the current context of CPD in this area and provides guidance.

Edited by Marion Waite, senior lecturer at Oxford Brookes University, and Jan Keenan, consultant nurse and joint non-medical prescribing lead, Oxford Radcliffe Hospitals Trust, the book is also suitable for managers of non-medical prescribers, practice managers, and prescribing leads responsible for providing CPD.

It is divided into three sections. The first looks at general principles of CPD and considers overarching and organisational issues such as clinical governance. The second looks at specific approaches that practitioners or trusts have adopted to facilitate CPD, such as e-learning and how to keep up to date with pharmacology. The final section includes a number of usable documents relating to each chapter, which identify further resources and include practical ideas and tools.
