Student access to parenteral medicines consultation launched

The MHRA has launched a consultation on allowing student midwives access to parenteral medicines, which can currently be administered by registered midwives under an exemption in medicines legislation.

The proposals, which have been developed in consultation with the Nursing and Midwifery Council, would allow student nurses experience in administering parenteral medicines, ensuring they were fit to practise at registration.
