Pessaries increase quality of life in pelvic organ prolapse patients
Women who use a pessary to manage pelvic organ prolapse experience an improvement in their quality of life and body image, as well as symptoms.
This is the conclusion of a study of 75 women who required treatment with a pessary. Before treatment the women were asked to completed a quality of life questionnaire and a body image scale.
After successful pessary insertion and use for at least three months, they completed the surveys again. Follow up responses were received form 54 subjects.
