Cardiac staff call for rehab funding

Cardiac nurses, joined by patients and doctors, protested with oversized price tags outside parliament last week, demanding better access to cardiac rehabilitation

The British Heart Foundation’s (BHF’s) first political protest called for government funding of cardiac rehabilitation services. The £600 price tags show the cost of giving a patient the minimum level of cardiac rehabilitation. A BHF survey revealed 60% of those who need cardiac rehabilitation do not have access to it.
