Poo proves to be a cereal killer
I told some students that I’d go over testing for “occult” glucose in faeces. I melted some chocolate and added it to crushed Rice Krispies until it was the consistency of, well, poo.
Gloved and aproned, I added the reagent, saying this test was fiddly but there is a quicker way - I whipped off a glove, dipped in a finger in the sample, scooped up a large mound and put it in my mouth. “Definitely sugar in that,” I said. The students’ faces were a picture.
