Drug combination for cardiology patients approved

  • Comment

The European Medicines Agency has approved the oral antiplatelet drug ticagrelor (Brilique) for use in combination with aspirin.

Combining the two drugs has been found to aid in the prevention of atherothrombotic events in adult patients who have had a myocardial infarction or an episode of unstable angina.

This includes patients managed medically and those managed with percutaneous coronary intervention or coronary artery bypass grafting.
