A new head of children’s nursing has been appointed at Northern Lincolnshire and Goole Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Amanda Jackson, who will work across Scunthorpe and Grimsby hospitals, has more than 20 years of experience working with children and babies in Northern Lincolnshire.

Prior to her new appointment she was the operational matron for children’s services at Scunthorpe Hospital.

She started her nursing career in 1987 as a student nurse and was appointed ward manager of the neonatal unit at Scunthorpe in 2002.

In 2005 she became the clinical educator for the North Trent Neonatal Network, which covers nine neonatal units, before returning to Scunthorpe Hospital in 2008 as neonatal unit manager.

Ms Jackson said: “I am really looking forward to the challenge of my new role. I want to be involved in the continued development of quality services for babies, children and young people across the organisation.”
