Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust has appointed a permanent nurse executive.
Andrew McCallum, who had been serving as the interim nurse executive since May 2012, will be taking up the position on a permanent basis with immediate effect.
In addition, he will be taking on the additional role of deputy chief executive.
In his capacity as nurse executive, Mr McCallum will be leading on the development of the strategy for nursing and healthcare support workers at the trust.
Before coming to the Cornish trust, Mr McCallum was formerly director of nursing and lifelong learning at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in London, and director of nursing at Queen Mary’s Sidcup NHS Trust.
He said: “I am immensely proud to work at RCHT and of the care we give to patients. I feel very much part of the team already and pleased to now be in a permanent post.”
