Former CNO becomes Salisbury non exec

Former chief nursing officer for England Dame Sarah Mullally has been appointed as a non-executive director of Salisbury Foundation Trust. 

Dame Sarah started her nursing career at St Thomas’ in London in 1984, becoming director of nursing and deputy chief executive at Chelsea and Westminster Healthcare NHS Trust in 1994.

In 1999 she was appointed CNO and director of patient experience at the Department of Health.

In 2001 she became a deacon in the Church of England and was ordained as a priest in 2002.

After stepping down as CNO in 2004, Dame Sarah moved into the church full time and is currently Canon Treasurer at Salisbury Cathedral.

She is also a non-executive director at the Royal Marsden Foundation Trust and Pro Chancellor of London South Bank University.

Non-executive directors serve three years and can extend this for a further three-year term. They receive remuneration of £13,000 per annum.
