Former nurse becomes city coroner
Louise Hunt has been appointed as the new senior coroner for Birmingham and Solihull by Birmingham City Council.
Ms Hunt began her career as a nurse at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham in 1984.
She then undertook a law degree, which she graduated from in 1992, before going on to qualify as a solicitor in 1995.
After gaining a masters degree in healthcare ethics and law at Manchester University, she went on to hold a number of coroner roles throughout the Midlands and Wales.
Ms Hunt said: “Having lived and worked in and around Birmingham throughout my adult life, I am very much looking forward to serving the people of Birmingham and Solihull.”
She will take up post on 4 November and will become the ninth Coroner since 1840.
