Survey: Utility bills top list of nurse money worries
The rising cost of utility bills is the biggest source of financial concern facing nurses, our survey suggests, with one in five respondents citing this as the main reason for money worries.
We asked: if you have money worries, what are your greatest concerns about? Of the 2,167 respondents who answered the question, 21% said the increasing cost of utilities such as gas and electricity, was their main financial concern.
A further 16% said job security while 13% identified paying the mortgage as their biggest monetary worry, the same percentage said other debts or credit card bills. Just over a tenth of respondents cited petrol price rises and 4% other causes.
Meanwhile, 22% of respondents said they currently had no money worries.
