Midwife faces prison for promoting home births

Midwife Agnes Gereb faces five years in prison for promoting home births in Hungary, where hospital birth is effectively compulsory. 

Dr Gereb, founder of the Napilag birthing centre and a recognised international expert on home birth, was arrested on 5 October before appearing in court on 12 October wearing handcuffs and leg chains.
