Hertfordshire trust backs Speak Out Safely campaign
A leading provider of mental health and learning disabilities services has pledged to back our campaign to support staff that raise concerns about patient safety.
Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust has become the latest service provider to support the Speak Out Safely campaign.
We launched the campaign in March to make it safer for staff to raise legitimate concerns about patient safety.
As part of the initiative, we are asking healthcare providers to sign up to support the aims of Speak Out Safely by displaying the logo and pledge on their websites.
Trust chief executive Tom Cahill said: “We are proud to support this worthy campaign. The safety of our service users is our top priority and we also want to make sure our staff feel able to raise concerns around care and safety.
“We are committed to reassuring our staff that they are able to raise concerns and that we will listen and act on them,” he added.
As of last week, nearly 60 NHS organisations had pledged to support the campaign. However, only five so far are from the mental health sector.
