Schoolgirls help launch HPV vaccine campaign

Over 150 Bradford schoolgirls helped launch a local campaign last week to persuade teenagers to complete the three jab HPV course.

HPV lead for NHS Bradford and Airedale Linda Scott said: “We decided to seek help from these schools, not only to boost the number of girls having the vaccination, but also because we felt these girls would be more effective at reassuring their peers that the jab was ok and they should get themselves protected against cervical cancer.”

  • This is great! My daughter became involved in a facebook discussion when some of her friends said they wouldn't have the jab because they didn't like needles! All the girls made valid points but those in favour of vaccination won through. It proved to me how strong peer pressure is - and how sensible teenagers can be!
