Charity bike ride to promote leg health awareness

Two tissue viability nurses will be cycling from Liverpool to Hull to raise money for the leg ulcer forum and their local hospice.

The nurses are supported by Activa Healthcare and will cycle from Liverpool through Manchester and Sheffield before ending in Hull.

Simon and Brenda, along with local nurses, will be holding free leg health checks in the city centers to emphasise the importance of looking after your legs.

Alongside the charity bike ride, nurses are invited to attend relevant training sessions on managing venous and lymphatic conditions of the lower limb, with the opportunity to hone bandaging and compression hosiery skills.

The charity bike ride event is planned for 1-5 August 2011.
