21 September 2007 - Life in Afghanistan, the end of my deployment, and a homecoming
Life in our role can be quite stressful and a good night's sleep can be difficult to come by. On one particular occasion I found myself awake in the early hours in a panic reliving some of the difficult jobs I've had to handle since I arrived here. It was probably an accumulation of the last few months but my chest was pounding, I felt sick and wanted to pack my kit and go home.
