  • Yes - please!! Patients are often confused about uniforms and the qualification of the healthcare worker Caring for them. A national uniform would help towards a professional image for nursing. it my lso prevent the round robin of trusts introducing new uniforms, changing colours with the objective to enable patients to identify staff ...mmmm, until the patient enters another trust and it ll changed again. Wonder how the police force, fire brigade, or ambulance service would be portrayed by the public if they had different colour and style of uniform depending on what station they were based at..I rest my case!

  • standardisation would be far better for identification of staff and more economical. they could then be changed nationally periodically to keep them up to date and practical as newer styles or materials are developed.

such standardisation should be applied to many other areas of the NHS to curb costs, increase efficiency and provide patients with greater equality in quality and accessibility of care.
