Pressure sores have recently been blamed on many factors such as lack of staff, lack of adequate training, not turning the patient frequently enough, leaving them in damp and soiled bedding, more recent changes in nursing practices and priorities and management, increased media attention, and possibly many more reasons.
Not wishing to go into all the most common reasons again here, which have been well documented in the press and elsewhere, I just wonder whether changes in materials used in bedding, nightwear, pads and laundering processes could also play a role?
