  • Comment on: Unions criticise NHS staff 1% pay rise

    Sarah Stanley's comment 16-Mar-2013 5:01 pm

It gets worse if your Trust is in the south west pay cartel like the one I work for, they want to cut two days of our annual leave, add one hour to our working week (unpaid), and cut maternity pay and sick pay. Oh well the 1% pay rise will make up for that won't it???!!!!

Got to agree with Anon above. Not sure Maggie did anyone any favours by saving the backsides of the Chief Exec and board of this Trust. And I wonder who sent her to the National Nursing press with this "feel good" story? From a trust where the Nurses look defeated by the pay cartel and Consultants whisper in corridors about a vote of no confidence.

Anon 12 feb 5.03pm I have said for a long time Chief Execs have too much power, that one person at the top can make or break a Hospital - as Stafford proved! We also have a Chief exec who plays his own game in our Trust and he is systematically destroying our Hospital. Why are they allowed to get away with it?

Why was the report on staff shortages not shown to the Board - I note Ms moss didn't explain that?!! If she was in possession of that report she had a duty to let the board know surely? Did she knowingly collude in not showing it as I have read in the past, I really hope not.

Susan Markham You are right it's the people of Stafford who will be the losers in the end, will they end up with no hospital at all? My 86 year old mum lives there and they already have no out of hours A&E because they couldn't recruit the staff. I wish they could turn it around and i hope they do, I trained there in the 80s and it was a lovely place then.
