Scrubs replace nurse uniforms

Nurses at a Wiltshire hospital are exchanging uniforms for scrubs to cut healthcare-associated infections such as MRSA.

Under Salisbury District Hospital’s new uniform policy, all nursing and therapy staff wear scrubs and no wrist jewellery.
Director of nursing Tracey Nutter (pictured) said: ‘Nursing staff are the key staff group where scrubs could make a real difference. This is because they have that very close, regular contact with patients.’
