Shisha pipe use on the rise
People are increasingly smoking shisha pipes, possibly because they perceive it to be safer than cigarettes, research from Canada has found.
Researchers found that almost one quarter of 18 to 24-year-olds in Montreal said they had smoked a water pipe in the past year. The pipes proved particularly popular among young, well-off, men who lived alone, although they also smoked cigarettes more than other groups, the authors said online in the journal Pediatrics.
