Do risk scores undermine a nurse's intuition?

Recently, I’ve been thinking about risk scores, and whether they work or not.
Who should be feeding patients?

It is a question that comes up time and again. On a busy ward, whose responsibility is it to feed patients at mealtimes?
Has working as a student nurse made you aware of prejudices that you never knew you had?

As hard as we try to be objective, none of us can stop the instant spark of opinion that enters our head when we meet a new person or encounter a new situation.

So, when I thought about what I could offer in this time of excitement and uncertainty, I wanted to give an honest representation of something that can be quite distressing and humiliating: what happens when you fail - and, more importantly, how do you pick yourself back up again?
