Maintain pressure on reforms to protect NHSSwine flu advice issued
All households in the UK are to receive leaflets containing information about the swine flu virus, it has been revealed.
The publications will also include suggestions on how to prevent the spread of the disease as concern grows about the scale of the outbreak.
The Department of Health said it was in talks to ‘urgently increase current stockpiles’ of surgical face masks for use by nurses and doctors working with infected patients in the event of a pandemic.
The measures come as health professionals prepare themselves for more suspected cases of the virus to emerge around the country.
A DH spokeswoman said: ‘The leaflet will be sent out next week, cover the whole of the UK, and will contain information about this flu outbreak and preventative messages.’
