Luckily for Ms Harry, she probably doesn`t need to work again, unlike some of the real staff who lost their jobs because of her failings.
Unfortunately this is not unique in Mental Health Trusts at the moment and I know in our Trust, Section 136 suites are regularly used as bedrooms, and we have had "emergency" camp beds in use also in recent months. Too many bed closures equals not enough beds. Is it me, or should some of the "Ruling Classes" not have thought about that before the current situation arose ?????
Blah, blah, blah, blah, etc, etc, etc. Another "Action Plan", please spare us the usual B*** S***. Real action, needs real resources and an end to the cuts we have to endure year on year to our so called "Ring Fenced" budgets, which result in fewer beds, fewer staff, and poorer care. The only action taking place seems to be an ever increasing drive to recruit business managers, workforce development teams, transformation teams, and project management teams, who`s influence on patient care is in my view minimal to say the least. Haven`t we already seen the results of performance, target driven and business management cultures in Acute Hosptals, yet we carry on regardless. It`s not Rocket Science is it?
